About the SURFY project

Wondering how to deal with increasing student populations and how to better support diverse students groups?

The partners of this Erasmus+-project were wondering the same.

Our goal is to increase access, participation and success of students from under-represented groups and/or disadvantaged backgrounds by evaluating and improving support systems to better serve them in the transition to and first year of higher education.

How? 

• A database with good practices on guiding and supporting students
• Tools for staff to help with evaluations or including the students voice
• Advice and guidelines based on the project experiences and by comparing outputs

Why?

• Higher ed: massification + diversification leads to pressure on support systems
• Students: groups remain under-represented or have lower success rates
• Institutions: inclusion of the students’ voices in evaluation and design of support
• Practitioners: need for sharing initiatives with attention to transferability
