Traveller and Roma Access Officer

Traveller & Roma Access Officer: The main purpose of the project is to increase the participation of Traveller and Roma students in Higher Education. The project focuses on three strands: Pre-entry and Outreach, Post-entry Support, and Building Institutional Readiness.

The Student Fair is a low-threshold place where first years can find all sorts of information that might be applicable/interesting to them (e.g., Who are the student representatives? Which student associations are there? How can I find a student job that fits my study programme?)

Student Experience Days

Senior secondary school students get to experience campus for a day. Taster lectures are organised, as well as a campus tour, information session on entry pathways and available scholarships and a student panel event.

Dignity & Respect Support Service

The UCD Dignity and Respect Support Service was established to ensure the University has proactive measures in place to promote a positive culture of dignity and respect and to create a working and learning environment which makes clear the expectations of members of our community with regard to respecting each other and that unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated.

Summer School

Each summer UCD Access & Lifelong Learning hosts a residential summer school which gives fifth-year school pupils (senior secondary students) from linked DEIS schools and organisations a chance to meet other students who aspire to go to university. During this programme, participants have an opportunity to experience college lectures, undertake project work in a chosen subject, and enjoy a variety of the social and sports activities available to UCD students. DEIS schools are schools that have been identified as being in areas of disadvantage. DEIS stands for Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools and is a Irish government programme.

Digital Ambassadors

The Digital Ambassadors (DAs) are Access Leaders who work with UCD Access and Lifelong Learning, and they facilitate online and in-person drop-in sessions for IT support for students.
